Abstract
This paper describes the challenges of lexical description of the Ormuri language (in terms of limited material, inconsistencies and ambiguities in sources, and the unrecognized structure of the language community – clan structure) and presents Swadesh-207 lists for Ormuri (the two dialects separately, taking into account new data on the Kaniguram dialect collected in 2025 by the author) and Parachi. Avestan etymologies are provided for the Kaniguram dialect of Ormuri, indicating the differences with Proto-Iranian, Proto-Western Iranian and Proto-Eastern Iranian forms.
