This paper examines the transformation of the genre system and artistic thinking in the works of A. The article offers a new interpretation of Kabardian epic thinking and methodological guidelines for understanding A. Keshokov’s works.
The relevance of the study is determined by the uniqueness of traditional values – the evolution of religious and ethical consciousness – A. Keshokov's work in the Soviet and post-Soviet period. The emphasis on the characteristics of religious and ethical values in A. Keshokov's work has an immense extent both in the past and in the future.
The focus of attention is on the key problem for North Caucasian literary studies – the phenomenon of the author's presence in the text and its ability to structure the national artistic picture of the world. Thus, the nuances of studying this topic allow us to recreate a scientifically reasoned view of the picture of the genre evolution of the epic and the novel by A. Keshokov, to clarify their conceptual and ideological components within the framework of their systemic comprehension and rethinking. The results obtained within the framework of the “axiology of rereading” contribute to the study of the evolution of the North Caucasian artistic consciousness from ethnic thinking to novelistic, which, in fact, determines the special relevance of this study.
