Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the use of archetypes in video poetry based on Elena Sortova's video “I’ve set the table for the six”. The video was adapted from the poem by M. I. Tsvetaeva “The first verse that I repeat...”. In the introduction, the purpose of the work is indicated - to analyze the poem from the point of view of the presence of archetypes in it and consider how they are presented in the video and what function they perform. To achieve this goal, archetypal, mythopoetic methods and a comparative approach were used. The results of the study include a conclusion about the interconnectedness of all archetypes presented in the work of the festival “Videostikhiya” and in the poem by M. I. Tsvetaeva. It is emphasized that the video has strengthened the perception of the archetypes of the literary text. The results of the work can be used by philologists, literary critics, and participants of the video poetry festival. The relevance of the research lies in the fact that new modern information technologies and art forms based on visual perception, often use archetypes with which they influence the subconscious of viewers. One of these types of art is video poetry. The novelty of the research lies in the fact that here the poetic text and the history of its creation are analyzed in detail as the source material for the video, The main emphasis is made on the archetypal nature of poetry and video poetry, as well as the fact that all the considered archetypes are connected with each other. The theoretical significance of the research lies in the fact that the article examines the meanings of the archetypes “light-darkness”, “friend-foe” and “life-death”.
