Abstract

The peer-reviewed collection of the writer and journalist Evgeny Nikolaevich Chirikov (1864–1932) contains his prose devoted to the theme of the First World War. It includes nine short stories and six essays written by him as part of his correspondent work in the frontline zone. The author's writings are preceded by an introductory article about the writer's life and work, compiled by M. V. Mikhailova and A. V. Nazarova. Russian readers will continue to learn about the legacy of the writer, who has been virtually eliminated from Russian literature since emigrating in 1920.
