Abstract
The article is devoted to the issue of the image of church and adjacent images in Saburovoy’s novel “Ships of the Old city”.
This novel was published in the Russian language only in 1972. And recently was republished by the publishing house Daugava.
The article is devoted to the issue of image of Riga 1920 – 1940 years.
Therefore, the novel about Riga written post factum is a kind of a result that managed to keep and to show the peculiar spirit, color of that time.
