Abstract

The article examines the websites of Russian universities and their structural and content features. A university website is one of the main tools that provide information about the institution. Each type of educational institution has its own features of a site organization. The characteristic features of a University's website are compliance with the regulatory documents approved in the country, possession of a computer menu, sections and subsections. While creating a website of an educational institution, developers should focus not only on different categories of users (applicants, students, employees, parents, scientific organizations, sponsors, etc.), but also take into account the specifics of vocabulary and terminology that is clear to different age groups. Special attention should be given to "the speed of the user's response to the message", so the placement is important to consider a number of factors: the arrangement of text elements (headings, quotes, subheadings, etc.), font size, font size, text highlighting, etc., the content of the page is the user's interests in general and availability of information at the moment, the style and genre of the text, the presence of understandable vocabulary, including specific characteristic of this group of users, accessible presentation of material, clarity of presentation, the author's style, literary speech, the speed of response, the presence of adaptive layout, etc. the Presented factors, correctly used by the creators of the site, are able to attract and hold the user's attention for a long time, to minimize the recipient's access to other Internet pages. In this regard, the study of the websites of Russian universities and their structural and content features becomes relevant.
