Abstract
The article suggests and describes ways to involve students in the process of learning a foreign language, shows specific techniques that allow achieving the desired result. A brief history of the theater and the use of theatrical activity in the pedagogical process are also considered. The subject of the study is the motivation of students to learn a foreign language. The task is to consider the effectiveness of using theatrical activity in learning a foreign language. As a result, the advantages of these techniques are revealed and the effectiveness of these techniques is proved.
Theatrical creativity and play make it possible to establish a deep and stable emotional contact between the teacher and the students. By creatively influencing the emotional and sensual component of the child's psyche, the teacher-director creates a positive motivation to study the subject, which underlies the cognitive interest of students and their achievement of high educational results. The implementation of this chain of connections determines the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed theatrical and gaming methodology. This technique contributes to the creation of a comfortable developing educational environment, creative development of the child's personality in the classroom and in extracurricular activities; achievement and maintenance of high motivation of schoolchildren to learn a foreign language; implementation of continuity at primary, secondary, senior school and university level; mastery of a foreign language by students at a high level corresponding to the European standard of education. For elementary school students, the unity of intellectual and emotional principles is characteristic. The emotional gives an impetus to intellectual, moral, and creative development. The motives of the educational activities of younger students are directly related to the nature of their emotions, with their state of mind in the classroom. Therefore, creating an atmosphere of goodwill, emancipation and mutual understanding in the classroom is extremely important. The introduction of game elements of the lesson, the creation of situations of joy and surprise, the playing of fairy-tale and everyday stories are as appropriate as possible to the level of development of younger schoolchildren and contribute to the formation of stable motivation to learn a foreign language.
