Abstract
The publication of the scantily abriged alteration of G.-B. Rabener’s satirical dictionary in the April issue of the journal "Industrial Bee" is of scientific interest. The authors of the article believe that А. A. Nartov translated the German text completely. The published version is the result of A. P. Sumarokov’s editing. This publication marked the beginning of the tradition of the satirical dictionary genre in Russian literature of the XVIII century, as well as generated interest of domestic translators to Rabener’s satire.
