Abstract

In the article the experience of "defamiliarization" ("ostrannenie" – V. B. Shklovsky's term) of love by provincial high-school girl Elizaveta Dyakonova is described. In the diary she talks about her discovery of taboo subjects and love as a phenomenon. As a result of a number of "insights", the influence of sanctimonious morality and lack of sexual education, love reveals experience of other people as an ignoble and sinful feeling. The authors of the article assume that the formation of female psychosexuality to a greater extent, than male’s, is influenced by "someone else's word" and "ready-made forms".
