Abstract
The article deals with the conceptual significance of hermeneutics in Russian symbolism. The use of the hermeneutic method by the theorists of symbolism is associated with increased attention to the sphere of consciousness of the subject, the possibility of conjugation of reality and the superreal. The idea of the identity of the part and the whole underlies the understanding of culture as a text by Vyach. Ivanov. Understanding of the text is carried out from personal positions. The hermeneutical method allows us to comprehend and explain the facts of consciousness.
