Abstract
Poetic dedication to the Grand Duchess Ekaterina Alekseevna of the «The Industrious Bee» magazine is considered in two contexts. The first is the sociological scientific myth that A. P. Sumarokov was oppositional in relation to court «party» of the Empress Elizaveta Petrovna and participated in palace intrigues in favour of the Grand Duchess. The second is antique and Russian tradition of a genre of dedication.
