Abstract
The article is devoted to the question of originality of interpretation of the motif of fire in M. Yu. Lermontov's lyrics, dependent not only from the existing in the Russian and world culture of traditions, but many from installations and philosophy of the poet. The motive of fire at Lermontov is implemented first of all in two spheres: as embodiment divine (or demonic) fire and as visual means of expression.
